Ebonyi: Nwifuru pledges to revive NIGERCEM Cement if elected governor

The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress /APC in Ebonyi State Hon Francis Nwifuru, has pledged to revive the moribund NIGERCEM Cement Nkalagu Ishielu Local Government Area if elected.

 

Hon Nwifuru made the assertion in Ezillo the Council Headquarters on Tuesday,  during the  flag-off of the party campaign rally in the area.

 

He said that the functionality of Nigercem has been a political issue, pledging to make it work.

 

*Nigercem is our own source of income and we will make industry work as our source of income in our administration*

 

*Sometime ago, I accompanied Governor Umahi to China on a feasibility tour aimed at getting Nigercem done*

 

*The Company handling the project  is owned by our brother, we will sit down with him to know exactly the date Nigercem will start working*

 

*I know how much the present government has done to revive Nigercem, there are many issues there, we will loose it and make the company work*

 

He said that the party was a big party that accomodates every body,

 

According to him,*the electorate must identify with the All Progressive Congress /APC*

 

*my government will embark on the construction of far-reaching projects that has impact on the people*

 

On insecurity, Hon Nwifuru said that it was a menace to the society that will be given serious attention.

 

The APC governorship candidate restated his commitment to engage the youths in practical agriculture.

 

Earlier in his remarks, Governor David Umahi said that his administration had constructed many projects in the Council including 35km of concrete road, Nigercem road 15km, built three bridges, flyovers among others.

 

*Our campaign is evangelism, it is not ordinary campaign, nobody can threaten Umuekumenyi, we are a united indivisible entity*

 

*Government has energized light across the 13 local Government Area,

 

In a speech, the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress /APC in Ebonyi State Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, urged the electorate to vote massively for the party.

 

Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of all candidates vying for various electoral positions under the platform of the party to the electorate.

 

The occasion had in attendance the Director General of the Campaign Council Deacon Austin Uḿahi, the wife of the Governor Mrs Rachel Umahi, the deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly Hon Kingsley Ịkọrọ, members of the FON Support Group, Rachel Umahi Women for Akubaraoha, members of the State House of Assembly, among others.
