It is right, as leaders of the Lagos community to take step towards this regard.

“I had been here on the 1st of May to request for today’s meeting. At today’s meeting, we have our Baba, Alhaji Justice Olorunimbe retired judge of Lagos who is well over 90 years old.

“The meeting has been cordial and useful. I can tell you, we have agreed on the mission of this delegation- that we in Lagos, we should have our support for the President-elect as he resumes office for the betterment of the Federal Goverment of Nigeria. The mission has been very successful.”

Similarly, Alhaji Olorunimbe added, “All what we discussed, the discussion is very cordial and very interesting. As Lagosians, we as leaders of the community must cooperate with the President-Elect.

“Chief Bode George has kindly hosted us and made us comfortably. The meeting will be beneficial. This is a non-political meeting discussing with elder statesmen the affairs of the community.”

In his response, George noted, “Let me on behalf of my colleagues who are elders in Lagos. When we got an invitation from Prince Olusi, that he wanted to come and see me, I should be the one to go and visit Baba. He has today come with issue of Lagos.

“We had detailed discussion that borders on the unity of our great State, Lagos.

“The culture of Lagos is to accept and accommodate all kinds of all tribes. There is no known tribe that does not reside in Lagos.”

He added, “A divided house will mean a defeated house. This kind of platform we are trying to have is to have unity of purpose. We can have different political affiliations.

“I said I have no battle between me and Asuwaju Tinubu. Vengeance not mine. That we all work together.

“And they make a request, we should all looking at a date we should congratulate Asiwaju. So let’s finish the issue in court. The issue of congratulating him will come to fruition.

“This union, this camaraderie is a positive step towards a new Lagos. I want to thank Baba for your humility. We have been here for about three to four hours. God has kept you to this age because we want to tap from your wisdom.” he submitted.
