The Niger State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the alleged killing of a photographer identified as Zacchaeus Salawadeen in the Tundun Fulani area, Minna on Tuesday.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, said this in a statement made available to PUNCH Metro on Wednesday.

The photographer was believed to have been trailed to his apartment by his assailants on February 27 before they carried out the crime.

The suspects were said to have locked other occupants in their rooms before they invaded Salawadeen’s apartment.

After gaining entry into the victim’s apartment, the suspected hoodlums were said to have stabbed Salawadeen multiple times before they left the scene.

PUNCH Metro learnt from the police that the incident, which was said to have occurred in the presence of photographer’s children, left the man dead after he was reportedly rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

The state police spokesperson further noted that the hoodlums stole some valuables believed to belong to the deceased before they escaped.

The command stated, “On February 27,2024, at about 0850 hrs, it was reported at Bosso Division that on the same date, at about 0330 hrs, one Zacheau, 33 years old, of Tudun-Fulani, Minna, was attacked in the house by a yet-to-be-identified person(s) and stabbed and robbed of valuables.
