An indegenous agricultural firm Davidorlah Nigeria Limited has pledged it readiness and commitment to empower over 50,000 young Nigerians on pineapple farming across the country.

The group equally tasked the Federal Government of Nigeria FGN on provision of the enabling environment in order to address food insecurity and crisis in the country.

Speaking at a press conference at the National Assembly, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer CEO of the group, Amb. Oluwasegun Alabi stated that the proposed empowerment plan for Nigerian youths is meant to ensure food sufficiency across the country.

Speaking further, he wondered why Nigeria as the most populous black nation on the surface of the earth should be engulfed in famine observing that the country has enough man power resources and fertile land mass to grow its farm produce.

Responding to questions about secondary school curriculum where Agricultural studies are made optional for secondary schools students, the firm lamented that such stance by government might affect students view on agricultural practices in the Nigeria.

The establishment also advised the federal government to address the pressing issue of food security in the country maintaining that it imperative to engage the right people in the agricultural sector – individuals, organisation with proven track records and a deep understanding of the industry who can offer informed and strategic advice on how to solve these challenges with urgency.

The agricultural expert therefore seek collaboration with individuals, companies, government bodies, and government parastatals to achieve this vision.

According to him, his organization aims to empower 50,000 Nigerian youths and farmers with 50,000 hectares of land, creating jobs and boosting rural communities.
