‘I’d break my leg for Portugal,’ every word from Ronaldo after Nations League win

Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed his decision to remain with Al Nassr, putting to rest any speculation about a potential move away from the Saudi club.

“My future? Basically nothing is gonna change. Staying at Al Nassr? Yea,” Ronaldo said, announcing the renewal of his contract.

Speaking after the UEFA Nations League final where his Portugal side defeated Spain on penalties, Ronaldo also revealed that he had been struggling with an injury but chose to play for Portugal despite the discomfort.

“I felt the injury since the warm-up, it’s been bothering me for a while. But for Portugal, if I had to break my leg, I would do it.

“It’s a title, I had to play and gave everything,” he said.

Reflecting on his career, the 40-year-old acknowledged he is nearing the end of his playing days but remains determined to continue as long as he stays fit.

“You know how old I am already, obviously I’m closer to the end than I was at the beginning, but I have to enjoy every moment.

“If I don’t get seriously injured, I’ll keep going,” Ronaldo said.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also praised 17-year-old Spanish star Lamine Yamal, calling him a “phenomenon” and predicting a bright future.

“Lamine is going to win a lot of collective and individual titles. He’s a phenomenon. He’ll have a long career and he’s going to win a lot of Nations Leagues.

“He’s 17… Please, leave him alone. I have to ask you to let him be. He has to be calm,” Ronaldo said.
