In a remarkable demonstration of Delta State’s growing reputation as a business-friendly environment, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has officially commissioned a new fuel station in Asaba, established by Virgin Forest Energy.
Represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Government House, Asaba, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, the Governor extended warm congratulations and reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to fostering private sector growth.
Delivering the Governor’s message, Dr. Osuoza stated that Delta State remains a prime destination for investment, offering both ease of doing business and a secure, enabling environment.
He encouraged further expansion, expressing hope that the next commissioning by Virgin Forest Energy would take place in Warri and other parts of the State.
“These are assurances directly from the Governor,” Dr. Osuoza said. “We believe that doing business in Delta State will be a rewarding experience, and you’ll be eager to expand even further.”
The Chairman of Virgin Forest Energy, Sir Johnson Chukwu, used the opportunity to commend his wife, Lady Nneoma Johnson Chukwu, the company’s Managing Director, for her resilience and visionary leadership in driving the company’s rapid growth.
“We started very little in Lagos,” said Lady Nneoma. “Now we have our depot in Akwa Ibom State, and this is our first venture in Asaba, Delta State. In the next few months, more branches will follow.”
Architect Chike Obiaku, who has been instrumental in developing multiple Virgin Forest Energy outlets across Nigeria, including in Enugu, Owerri, Lagos, Onitsha, Asaba, and Aba, was also recognized.
Speaking at the event, he reflected on his journey with the company and the values of accountability and professional development instilled by the leadership.
“I’m actually an architect, but Virgin Forest Energy has converted me into an engineer,” Obiaku said with a smile. “They gave me time to improve, even when I made mistakes. That’s the spirit of growth.”
The Head of Retail, Mrs. Onyinyechi, echoed the company’s commitment to excellence.
“This station represents our commitment to growth, service, and bringing energy closer to our customers. It is the product of vision, meditation, and pursuit of value,” she said.
She also appreciated the unwavering support from customers and staff, noting that their dedication made the milestone possible.
One of the highlights of the commissioning was a thought-provoking address by renowned business leader, Dr. Cosmos Maduka, who delivered a powerful message on the true meaning of value, service, and wealth creation.
“Money is not cash, money is value. What you need is not cash, it’s access and relationships that open doors,” he declared.
Sharing his personal story, he encouraged young entrepreneurs to embrace hard work, humility, and mentorship.
Dr. Maduka outlined five key levels of wealth creation: credibility, credible relationships, integrity, character, and competence, urging the pump attendants and attendees to pursue these foundational principles in business and life.
“In 1976, after working for my uncle for five and a half years without salary, he gave me ₦200. That act taught me that true wealth begins with service. When you offer genuine value, people reward it,” he said.
The event was attended by a religious leader, Most Rev. Dr. V.C.E Onoh, the Archbishop of Methodist Church, Anambra State, Rev. Godwin Chukwu, younger brother to the Chairman of Virgin Forest Energy, traditional chiefs, stakeholders in the oil and gas sector, business executives, and members of the public who all applauded the investment initiative and the State government’s role in supporting economic growth.
In a powerful and spiritually uplifting homily drawn from Psalm 24:1-2, the Archbishop of the Methodist Church, Anambra State, Most Rev. Dr. V.C.E. Onoh, delivered a message of hope, wealth, and divine assurance at the commissioning ceremony of Virgin Forest Energy’s new fuel station in Asaba.
Addressing dignitaries, business leaders, and members of the public at the event, Archbishop Onoh declared that true and lasting wealth comes from recognizing and honouring God as the source of all blessings.
“Jesus was so blessed that He gave man the formula to create wealth,” the Archbishop said. “If you take God seriously, you have already stepped into wealth.”
Speaking on the blessings surrounding Virgin Forest Energy’s growth, he encouraged attendees to return all glory to God, noting that divine acknowledgment opens doors to individual breakthroughs.
“The Lord who has blessed Virgin Forest Energy, if you give Him the glory, He will give you your own. When you are in lack, go to Him,” he urged.
Archbishop Onoh concluded his message with a call to deeper spiritual trust and surrender, introducing Christ as the ultimate source of life, peace, and prosperity.
“I introduce you to the man of Calvary, the man of life. When you hand anything to God, go and rest. The success is sure.”
His sermon struck a spiritual chord, reinforcing the tone of gratitude and purpose that defined the commissioning ceremony.
With this latest commissioning, Virgin Forest Energy adds yet another milestone to its growing national presence and sets the stage for further investments across Delta State.
