Dangote reduces petrol price to N1,200 from N1,275 per litre

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced its gantry price for petrol to N1,200 per litre.
The reduction represents a cut of N75 per litre from the price it has been selling since Saturday last week.
On March 21, 2026, Dangote Refinery raised its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to N1,275 per litre as against N1,245 per litre
In its latest price adjustment, the company pegged gantry price at N1,200 per litre and coastal price at N1,153 per litre without explanation. This might be as a result of the swinging price of crude in the global market owing to the uncertainty surrounding ceasefire prospects in the Middle East war between US-Israel and Iran. Crude had remained largely above $100 per barrel since last week.
Dangote had sent a notice to marketers weekend last week to inform them of the price increase. The notice read, “Dear Valued Customer, kindly note that the prices contained in our previous correspondence are no longer applicable and should be disregarded.
“Please find below the current DPRP PMS gantry and coastal prices. The refinery increased its coastal price from N1,512,648 to N1,646,748 per metric tonne, while the gantry price rose from N1,175 to N1,275 per litre.”
The company stressed that the new price regime takes immediate effect.
“Please note that the revised price will apply to all unloaded gantry and coastal volumes and is effective from 12am on the 21st of March 2026.
“For customers with a valid Bank Guarantee with DPRP, loading will continue with existing ATCs/PRN (if any) provided the BG credit balance covers the price change differential.”
