LAGOS – The African Action Congress (AAC), Abia State chapter, has condemned the recent announcement by the Abia State government under Dr. Alex Otti, to charge N50,000 per title document by land owners.

The party, in a statement jointly signed by the AAC State Chairman, Comrade Ezumaibe Kelechiukwu and Publicity Secretary, Ijeoma Ogbonnaya, said the policy is not only unlawful, but also an anti-people.

It stressed that tge move will further impoverish Abia poeople who are already struggling to make ends meet.

The party said it is unacceptable that the government would seek to burden citizens with such an exorbitant fee, which it said is clearly beyond the reach of many.

The AAC said: “We reject this policy and call on the Abia State government to immediately reverse this decision.

“Instead of imposing unnecessary financial burdens on citizens, the government should focus on providing affordable and accessible services that benefit the people.

“We urge land owners and all Abians to resist this unjust policy and demand that their rights be respected.

“The AAC Party will continue to stand with the people and fight against any policies that seek to oppress and exploit them.”
