There may be more troubles for the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Agency (ACTDA), Mr. Ossy Onuko, who was accused to have beaten up a driver of GUO Motors last week for overtaking his convoy.

Onuko had been accused of ordering thugs to beat up the commercial driver who was coming from Lagos and moving to Enugu.

Though he has apologiaed for his action and had followed it up by visiting the driver in the hospital, but was turned back and denied access to the victim.

But following the incident, there had also been calls for his sack, with many Anambra indigenes calling on Governor Soludo to relieve him of his position for being power drunk.

In what looked like more trouble for Onuko, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has cancelled a rally of the party proposed to hold at the weekend, which he had organised.

A press release by the Anambra State chairman of APGA, Mr. Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, said: “APGA has cancelled and postponed the purported ‘Anambra Central Zonal Rally’ being organised and facilitated by one Ossy Onuko as convener and one Mr. Obinna Ndigwe.

“The rally was scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 28, 2023, under the acronym “Solution Team.” Neither the Zonal leaders, critical stakeholders, nor even the party leadership in Anambra Central Senatorial Zone were consulted nor taken into confidence before such the so called ‘Mega Rally’ was conceived or put into execution.”

Some prominent Awka indigenes where Onuko hailed from had on Tuesday paid a visit to Proprietor of GUO Motors, Mr. Godwin Ubaka Okeke, to beg him on behalf of Onuko.

A source also said that there might be another visit to Governor Soludo soon to save Onuko’s job.

Onuko is believed to have been facilitated by a prominent Awka indigene, who nominated him for the ACTDA job.
