Police in Ogun State command have arrested one Suleman Kazeem, an alleged notorious member of the dreaded AYE cult group.
The suspect was arrested, following a distress call received by the DPO Shagamu Division CSP Okiki Agunbiade, that two rival cult groups Aye and Eye confraternities were engaging in a supremacy battle at Latawa area of Sagamu and thereby making life difficult for innocent members of the community.
DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi spokesperson for the Ogun State police command said “upon the distress call, the DPO mobilized his men and moved to the scene, on getting there, it was discovered that a member of Eiye confraternity simply identified as “Ajekunrin” had been killed by the rival group, cut off his two hands before escaping from the scene.
The DPO and his men, in conjunction with the vigilante group trailed the group to Agbowa area of Sagamu, where they succeeded in arresting one of their leaders Suleman Kazeem. Rcovered from him are: one double barrel locally fabricated pistol, one live cartridge and one Fonetom mobile phone.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police cp Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to anti cultists section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation”
