Nigerian leaders have been enjoined to drop their evil ways and be selfless as we enter the new year if God would fulfill their heart desires.

The Anambra State branch Chairman of the Civil Liberties Organization, CLO, comrade Vinvent Ezekwueme made this insertion in his new year
message to Nigerians.

According to him, “there is enough for every man’s need if not enough for every man’s greed. It is pertinent to note that if we can do things right, be content with the blessings of God upon us, think
about common good and interest, be selfless and patriotic, the new year will usher in our much cherished but elusive hope, peace, unity, progress and prosperity.”

“First and foremost it is of prime importance for us to use this first day of the year to thank God for his mercy, love and grace upon us for keeping us alive into this new year.

I am of the opinion that if we do the needful and avoid avarice, greed and selfishness, live above self and think about common good and interest by the grace of God, this year will bring hope, peace, unity,
progress and prosperity”.

“Pertinently our political leaders should marshal out strategic plans of action to patriotically tackle numerous security, economic and unemployment  challenges facing the country.

It is existential reality that with gun you can kill terrorist, but with education and skill acquisition you can kill terrorism . I wish to reiterate my earlier appeal for government to formulate education
policies that will include head, heart and hand in order to eliminate poverty of mind and hand thereby reduce unemployment, restiveness, idleness and Crimes”

“I most passionately appeal to Anambra State political leaders to always think about common good and interest, give peace a chance by calling  on their overzealous supporters to play the game according to the rules .

It will be a step in the right direction and well come development for them to think about next generation and not next election and not to
cast unsubstantiated aspersions on their opponents rather they should tell the electorate their manifesto and how they intend to accomplish
them”.

He charge religious, traditional and civil society organizations to earnestly commence mobilisation and education of citizenry especially by first approaching continuous voters registration exercise and the inevitable need to cast their votes during November 2021 governorship election.

He said that It was pertinent for citizens to be politically active as docile followers precipitated docile leadership.

“Nigerians should discard with great disdain corruption and corrupt tendencies which is bane of our development. For our good to be better, our better best in this new year, we must make necessary sacrifices for the common good and
interest through patriotic desire for social well-being of others above our selfish interest for the greater and better state and country”.
