..pledges to construct State Teaching hospital if elected

The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State Hon Francis Nwifuru, has pledged to tackle the menace of high mortality rate recorded at the Federal Teaching Hospital Abakkalki if elected.
Hon Nwifuru made the assertion on Wednesday while presenting his Agenda on the occasion of the First Clergy and Laity interactive session with Governorship Candidates of various political parties, organized by the Justice Development Peace and Caritas Initiative (CDAJDPCI), of the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki.
The interactive Session had in attendance gubernatorial candidates of APGA Professor Benard Odoh, Young Democratic Party (YPP) Engr Sunday Opoke, Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), among others.
The theme of the event titled, “Democracy and Good Governance in Ebonyi State”
Hon Nwifuru who is currently the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, said that he would transform public schools to enviable position.
“My agenda to the people of Ebonyi State is Liberation”
“All children, both rich and poor will sit together in public schools, not private schools”
According to him; “we intend to build Ebonyi State University Teaching Hospital”
” The Federal Teaching hospital has become a mortuary center with high death rate recorded ‘
In his own Contribution, the Governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Arc Edward Nkwegu, said that he would create 13,000 micro enterprises if elected the governor of the State.
“My administration will focus on employment, job creation and Civic Responsibility”
Earlier in his speech, the Catholic Bishop of Abakaliki Dr Peter Nworie Chukwu, described the occasion as a History Making Event.
“I want to encourage us to realize that we are making history today’

High points of the event was the presentation of “Citizens Point of Demand” to the Candidates for implementation if elected the Chief Executive of the State.
The demands focused on measures to tackle the menace of insecurity, strikes in institutions of Learning, economy, job creation, education and healthcare among others.
In attendance at the event included the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki Dr Peter Nworie Chukwu, the Clergy, citizens of the State, party faithful/supporters of various political parties, the media.
Others included the Senatorial, House of Representative, House of Assembly Candidates of various political parties.
