The Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party /PDP in Ebonyi State Senator Obinna Ogba, at the weekend insisted that he remains the authentic candidate of the party come 2023 general election.

Senator Ogba who doubles as the Chairman Senate Committee on Sports, made the assertion in abakaliki the state capital while fielding questions with newsmen on his return from Abuja.

He reiterated that nobody would take the mandate given to him through the back door.

Speaking against the backdrop of the recent court judgement that declared the primary that elected him null and void, Ogba maintained that it was the party that owns candidates.

*We have appealed the order of the court, we have filed Motion for Stay of Execution, there is need for people to respect constituted Authority.

*Courts does not belong to one     person, it belongs to all of us: the rich,   the poor, the young and the old. I’m happy the matter is already in court*

“But I think there is need for people to respect constituted authorities, Ebonyi is not a banana republic.

“But one thing I know is that nobody, no matter the circumstance, can intimidate me or take away the mandate given to me from the backyard, no matter the gang-up,” Ogba said.

He  urged party faithful’s and supporters to see the court  judgement that purportedly quashed the Primary election of 28th/29th May 2022 that elected him as mere diversionary tactics by few individuals who felt they could intimidate him.

*As of today, Senator Ogba remains the authentic candidate of the PDP in Ebonyi State in the  2023 gubernatorial polls**

*I am happy to inform you that the result of the Primary was formally submitted and Certificate of Return issued to me*

Senator Ogba debunked insinuations that the internal wrangling in the party has dampened the morale of party supporters , assuring party faithful’s to remain steadfast as victory was assured.
