A renowned Philanthropist Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odi, has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election held in the State.
The primary election held at the State PDP Secretariat abakaliki, was conducted by officials from the
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and witnessed by security agencies.
Declaring the result before party faithful’s, the Chairman of the Electoral Panel Mr. Olalekan Rotimi, said that Dr. Odi polled the highest number of valid votes totaling 349, to defeat five other contestants.
According to him, “Dr Odi got a total of 349 votes, while his closest rival Mr. Christian Usulor got Nine votes, while Chief Chukwuma Nwazunku and Mr Augustine Nwazunku secured one vote each.
He opined,” I Olalekan Rotimi, having been conferred with the Powers to chair this Panel hereby declare Chief Ifeanyi Odi, winner of the Primary election”
In an acceptance speech, Dr Chukwuma Ifeanyi Odi, said he was impressed with his emergence.
“I thank the party leadership for a successful primary election and extend my appreciation to the party delegates”
