The Council of Traditional Rulers in Ebonyi State on Monday unanimously endorsed the gubernatorial ambition of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly Hon Francis Nwifuru in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
The Royal Fathers which cuts across various constituencies in the 13 Local Government Areas of the State.
The endorsement of Hon Nwifuru occured at the Secretariat of the Council abakaliki, when the Speaker made a formal presentation of his APC Governorship Nomination Form and Expression of Interest to the Royal Fathers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council Eze Charles Nkpuma, commended Hon Speaker for the recognition accorded the Council.
Eze Charles Nkpuma said that the entire traditional rulers have unanimously endorsed the candidacy of Hon Nwifuru to contest the governorship of the state come 2023.
In a speech, the APC Governorship Aspirant and Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly Hon Nwifuru, said that his visit was to solicit the backing/support of the royal fathers of his gubernatorial ambition.
Hon Nwifuru informed the royal fathers that traditional rulers of his senatorial zone have initially endorsed his ambition.
“I assure you that if given the mandate I will not disappoint the people of the State”
“I am begging you to support my governorship ambition and get my blessing”
The governorship aspirant said that if elected, he would endure that peace and unity prevailed in the State.
‘I will pursue rural roads construction, youths empowerment, and enhance the welfare of civil servants”.
Highlights of the event was the formal presentation of Hon Nwifuru Nomination Form/Expression of Interest Form to the royal fathers.
In attendance at the occassion include the 2nd Vice Chairman of the Council His Royal Highness Eze Linus Nwizi, the Secretary Eze Charles Azu Enya, Dr Cosmos Onyibe Agwu (Okposi Kingdom), among others.
