Ex-gov candidate Nwosu dismisses defection rumours, reaffirms APC membership
A former governorship candidate of the Action Alliance in Imo State, Uche Nwosu, has dismissed social media rumours of his alleged defection to the African Democratic Congress, reaffirming his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress.
Nwosu officially revalidated his APC membership on Sunday during the party’s ongoing e-registration exercise in his ward, Eziama Obaire, Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.
Addressing party faithful and community members at the event, Nwosu dispelled speculation that he was planning to defect to the ADC.
Describing himself as a founding member of the APC, Nwosu said he had no intention of leaving a party he helped to build.

“I remain a committed member of the All Progressives Congress. I will not abandon a house I helped to build. I have no plan to defect to the African Democratic Congress,” he said.
He added that former Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, and other members of the Rescue Mission team remain committed to the APC.
Nwosu urged his supporters and residents to register en masse with the APC and actively support the party at all levels, from the grassroots to the federal level.
He stressed the importance of political participation and civic awareness, calling on citizens to remain engaged in shaping their political future.
The exercise was attended by several party leaders and stakeholders, including the ward chairman and executives, the ward councillor, the President General of Eziama Obaire, as well as the Director General and executives of the Ugwumba Movement.
Also present were the Eze-Elect of Eziama Obaire and former executive chairmen from Nkwerre, Orsu and Isu Local Government Areas.
