Flags flown half mast in A’IBOM in honor of former Milad Commodore Idongesit Nkanga rt

The governor of Akwa Ibom state, Deacon Udom Emmanuel has declared a seven day morning for the former indigenous military administrator of Akwa Ibom state, late Commodore ldongesit Nkanga rtd.

According to the release signed by the secretary to Akwa Ibom state government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, throughout the seven days morning, flags are to be flown at half mast in the state.
The release indicated that the flying of flags at half mast began Thursday, a day before Christmas.
Nkanga who had since been at the isolation center since he contracted Covid 19, died of complications arising from the virus infection.
He was the Director General of Governor Udom Emmanuel campaign organization tagged Divine Mandate, Chairman, Ibom international airport implementation committee and political leader of Nsit Ibom local government.   He died at age 68.
In a similar development, Governor Udom Emmanuel has joined millions of Nigerians to condole with family members of the twenty doctors said  to have died in a week due to exposure to Covid 19 pandemic disease in their line of duty.
However, he used the opportunity to call on people of Akwa Ibom state to wear their face masks, wash their hands regularly and maintain social distancing to keep the virus at bay.
The governor who reiterated that the second phase of the virus is more dangerous because, at times it doesn’t present symptoms, threatened to shut down the state totally should people refuse to make use of their face masks.
