The Medical Director of Federal Medical Center Jalingo, Dr Aisha Shehu Adamu has commended Governor Agbu Kefas for his efforts in refurbishing the Federal Medical Center, Jalingo and the state at large.
She stated this while on a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Commissioner for Health Dr Buma Bodiya.
According to her, she has been following closely the initial positive steps of the governor’s new administration program which include the recent appointment of the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Buma Bodiya
“I wish to use the medium to extended my hearty congratulations and wished you well.
“I want to commended the Executive Governor for all he has been doing so far in terms of refurbishing Taraba state and that the federal medical center also share in the desire to move the state forward especially in the area of Healthcare delivery.
Dr Aisha also stated that every citizen needs qualitative healthcare irrespective of their background or socioeconomic status, and the FMCJ is committed to contributing its quota to making sure that healthcare delivery is given to our population. So far, some steps taken to ensure this include: Significant infrastructure, Medical equipment, and Technology and are open for more technological innovations. Others are the training and re-training of personnel, Educational and enlightenment campaigns within and outside the hospital to create awareness on health care issues
The Medical Director said that the hospital is open for collaboration and partnership in the area of healthcare.
“However any institution of our nature cannot be without challenges and some of these challenges include: Land for expansion, Transportation especially with the removal of subsidy and Road network
In his remarks, the newly appointed Commissioner for Health, Dr. Buma expressed his appreciation over the visit and assured the Medical Director of the Government’s support in areas necessary to help achieve a better, efficient and enhanced state care delivery system.
