Governor Kefas worried about the lingering crisis in United Methodist Church in Nigeria

Taraba state Governor, Dr. Kefas Agbu has express worries concerning the long-time crisis in the two factions of the United Methodist Church in Nigeria UMCN.

The governor represented by the Member representing Karim 1 state constituency, Taraba state House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Dio Jen, stated this during the Harvest and thanksgiving service of the McBride United Methodist Church in Nigeria, Jalingo District, Episcopal area.

He said that since assumption of office, he has not identified himself with any denomination, adding that he is for all denominations.

He urged all to make peace and ensure that they live in peace with each other.

He appealed to both sides to embrace peace and always ensure peace in their areas.

He encouraged members on both sides to live in peace with each other.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, who is also the Member representing Karim 1 state constituency, Taraba state House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Dio Jen, appreciated God for seeing yet another time like this.

“Today is a day of Joy, for it is celebrated once a year. We should all rejoice for it is a happy day.

He called on members to give willingly and joyfully, adding that there is joy in giving.

He used the forum to remind those that made pledges last year to kindly redeem them.

“Donate what you are able and not to pledge what you cannot redeem.

“Remember that the pledges you are making is not for man, but for God – he said.

In his message, the Guest Speaker, Rev. Beziel Yayuba Yoila, spoke on the topic: In everything, give thanks to God, emphasize on the need of giving thanks to God at all times.

He took his scriptural readings from, 1Thess 5:16-18a, Isaiah 12:1-5, Acts 5:3-5, Deut. 28:1-6 and Luke 17:11-19.

“When you are in problem, take it to God through prayers. In every circumstances you find yourself, give thanks to God.

He urged people to always pray for safety and give thanks to God In every situation they find themselves.

He appreciated God for the good health and wealth to the people.

On his part, the Chief Harvester, Mr. Babangida Hassan, described the occasion as great.

“God has blessed us a lot in this Church, for amongst us there are Members of House of Assembly, Permanent Secretaries amongst others.

“Our God is great and powerful. We have to praise him for he is solid and has lasting peace. He intervened in our challenges and issues – he said.
