Fast and rapid growth in broilers can be slowed even with the best hatchery if management is bad.
Broilers grow faster between the first 10 days and few weeks before week 6. Therefore, it is important to target this particular stage, give excellent care to achieve the targeted weight and growth needed.
Beyond six weeks, broilers stop growing and use 80 percent of feed consumed for maintenance instead of growth.
Keep feeders full all the time and avoid feeders that waste feed.
Ensure clean fresh water is available all the time.
Ensure chicks eat the right feed type and size. Protein rich feed (23%cp) should be feed to chicks during first four weeks.
Sort (separate) smaller, weaker birds based on body size and weight into groups to enable smaller birds eat without being cheated or bully off.
Use broiler boosters or growth promoters (Adamino-Grow, Adaminolyte, etc) that help broilers grow up two times faster than normal.
Avoid starving birds, feed ad-libitum to produce heavy weight birds within a short time.
Use Light-on and light-off program. This enables broilers to fully digest their feed during light-off hours while resting and resume healthy eating during light-on hours.
Always practice good litter and pen management.
