Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has assured that the salaries owed by his administration will be cleared before he leaves office.
This is as he reiterated his commitment to the welfare of the people of the state despite owing the state civil servants salaries for several months.
Akeredolu gave the assurance on Thursday during the commissioning of the iconic Olaiya flyover in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
He lauded the Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola for prioritising the interest and welfare of the people despite the challenges faced.
Akeredolu stressed that Oyetola should be commended for paying salaries promptly as well as pensions and gratuities.
He confessed that he owes his state workers salaries but promised to clear them before the end of his tenure.
“I congratulate you, Governor Oyetola for your resilience in the face of daunting challenges. You have faced challenges even from those who are suppose to be your friends.
“We know what you met in the state and where you have taken the state to. I am not afraid to say the truth. You have tried. We were here when salaries were owed for several months but when you came in, you paid salaries.
“I thank you for making the interest of your people the primary consideration of your administration. You’re paying pension and gratuities. In Ondo State, we are owing salaries. We confess that, there is no problem, we will pay everything before we leave,” stated Akeredolu.
