…reiterates support for National Dialogue

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has distributed a total of 40 Sienna Buses and 20 Hilux Jeeps to the Security Agencies in the State for smooth operation.
Speaking at the commissioning of the vehicles on Friday at the Government House abakaliki, Umahi said that the distribution of the vehicles was to assist the agencies discharge their responsibilities.
Umahi said that the distribution marked the first Phase of Government assistance to the security agencies stating that the government had resolved to distribute more vehicles in future.
He expressed dismay about the escalating security challenges facing the South-East and the nation at large.
On the operations of the newly formed South-East security outfit codenamed Ebubeagu, Umahi said that the Ebubeagu outfit will be launched in all the five States of the South-East stating that Ebubeagu is not against ESN and IPOB.
“We have not deployed Ebubeagu. we will launch Ebubeagu in all the five States of the south east geo-political zone.”
The State Chief Executive said that the government would not tolerate the killing of any Ebonyi citizens anylonger.
“I have directed the 13 Local Government Chairmen to fish out bandits in the localities and talk with them, I will collate their agitations and take it to appropriate quarters”
“I have asked every citizen of Ebonyi State to protect themselves against any killing we will not take the killing of Ebonyians any longer
Umahi reiterated his support for the convocation of a National Summit for the country stressing that the time is ripe to convoke the summit.
“Nigeria is so much at a cross road, I am shocked when people are announcing date for election for 2023, it is unfortunate , it is not a matter of Mr President, all leaders must take responsibility, must listen to lthe agitations of the various National region’s in the country
Umahi said that there are lots of sponsored crisis in south east , we will ask our people to protect themselves from killers .
“We can not continue to ignore the various agitations of all the region’s of this country. We have to sit down to discuss, we have to mend our ways”
“Let forget about 2023 and begin to mend fences. I don’t mind how people feel about it , it is not an issue of political party if we had engaged at the begining this happenings will not happen, it is not about EFCC or ICPC”
Speaking against the backdrop of criminal activities in the state in recent times, Umahi described the act as pure criminality .
“ESN or IPOB is not against the Governor of Ebonyi State, the Governor of Ebonyi State has delivered and paid his dues”
On the Ring Road projects that cuts across seven local Government Areas of the State, Umahi enjoined citizens of war-torn Effium and Ezza Effium to maintain peace.
“We are about awarding 70 km of the Ring Road project, the ADP has signalled that anywhere there is an attack or confrontation on contractors that section will be abandoned , communities should provide vigilantes to ensure safety of contractors”
The commissioning of the vehicles was witnessed by top Officials of security agencies including the State Commissioner of Police Garba Aliyu, Commandant of Nkwegu Military Cantonment, Commandant of Ebonyi State Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, members of the State Executive Council, the State Chief Judge Elvis Ngene among others.
