Plateau state governor-elect, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has stated that it is time to focus on governance now that politicking is over.
He appeal to those who contested with him to join hands in building new Plateau, as his aimed is to be able to hit the ground running when he sworn into office come 29th May, 2023, so that the yearnings and aspirations of the people would be meet.
Mutfwang made the clarion call Thursday after receiving a certificate of returned as Plateau state Governor-elect alongside deputy Ngo Josephine Piyo as well as the 24 state Assembly members elect from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He applauded the electoral umpire (INEC) for discharging its role in line with the rules of engagement.
According to him, ” I want to give God all the glory for making this day possible and reality. I want to placed it on record that INEC on the Plateau have distinguished itself honorably.
“While it is true alone the line there was some of the adhoc staff who try to provide room for the process to be sabotage on one way or the other, but I want to say overall that INEC on the Plateau followed the due process of the law and that is why today we have concluded the process that has led to rejoicing across the land.
” when justice is done and seems to be done…the people will rejoice, and therefore want to salute the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Dr. Oliver Agundu and his team for their steadfastness, courage and standing in the side of the law and the people.
“These are caliber of people we need in the institution such as INEC. The people with capacity and O prayed that this will go a long way in strengthening INEC as an institution that will truly be independent body that is allow to do its job, and do it in accordance with prescribed law and let the votes of the people count.
” On the Plateau, I can say it with all confidence without a contradiction that the voice of the people has been declared”, Mutfwang mentioned.
