As part of ongoing efforts to implement the five-kilometre road projects, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, on Friday, flagged off the construction of a five-kilometre road project in Kunchi town, Ghari Local Government Area.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, on Saturday.

According to the statement, the governor noted that the project was initiated during the second tenure of Rabi’u Kwankwaso to develop rural communities but was abandoned by the immediate past administration of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

He urged the contractor to mobilise at the site, saying that failure to do so would compel the government to terminate the contract.

“I’m calling on the contractor to mobilise to the site in the next week. Failure to do so will compel the state government to revoke the CV contract,” the governor was quoted as saying.

He expressed appreciation to the people of the area for their patience, support, and cooperation and instructed the contractor handling the project to mobilize to the site within one week fully.

Before flagging off the 5-kilometre road project, Yusuf, in the company of his deputy, Aminu Gwarzo, and other members of the State Executive Council, commissioned a township road in Yandadi town.

The governor and his entourage also visited Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies, Ghari.

He assured the public of the state government’s readiness to provide all necessary infrastructure to ensure academic activities at the College continue without interruption.
