In its drive toward sustainable community development, Ajose Arilesola Community Development Association (CDA) in Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, LCDA of Lagos has held its Annual General Meeting, Calendar Launch, and Award Presentations.
The event took place on Saturday, 6th December 2025, marking another milestone.
The CDA Chairman, Alhaji Alimi Quamorudeen A., highlighted the community’s achievements in the outgoing year, including the successful restoration of power supply through the replacement of a faulty transformer in partnership with Ikeja Electric, production of the community calendar, recognition of outstanding members through awards of honour, and the formal installation of an official Baale.
He further assured residents that once the rains end, the CDA will fix potholes, improve drainage, enhance security architecture, and promote stronger accountability in project execution.
The General Secretary, Mr. Temitayo Abudu, emphasized plans to deepen collaboration with the LCDA, Lagos State Government, private organizations, and NGOs—particularly in youth empowerment, drainage improvement, and the provision of solar streetlights with CCTV to boost community security.
He reassured residents of continuous community engagement to build trust, unity, and voluntary participation.
Speaking on the newly unveiled solar streetlight project, one of the Awardees, Pastor Fọlọrunsho Olufemi Ojerinde described it as a welcome innovation deserving the support of all residents.
He called for improved environmental discipline, especially discouraging shop extensions that obstruct drainage, and pledged personal financial support for the solar project.
The Youth Leader (Olori Ọdọ), Mr. Abudu A. Olalekan, commended the active involvement of youths in meetings, community tasks, security initiatives, and sanitation exercises.
He stated that youths expect increased employment opportunities and more inclusion in governance in the coming year.
For 2026, the youth wing plans to introduce entrepreneurship programs, mentorship schemes, and increased mobilization through environmental activities and digital platforms.
The community Baale, Chief Taiwo Arilesola, reaffirmed that Ajose Arilesola continues to enjoy unity, peace, and steady development. He expressed delight at the community’s growing media visibility and progress under collective leadership.
The event featured award presentations, the official launch of the CDA 2026 calendar, and the unveiling of the flagship project for the coming year: LIGHT UP AJOSE ARILESOLA COMMUNITY an ambitious solar-powered streetlight and security enhancement initiative aimed at transforming the community’s night-time safety and visibility.
