The Lagos Government on Monday said some of the regular school activities will be suspended.
Mrs Folashade Adefisayo, Lagos Commissioner for Education while addressing newsmen also said sensitization would continue to encourage students to adhere strictly to COVID-19 safety protocols.
She disclosed this during an impromptu Monitoring and sensitization visit to some schools to ensure strict compliance to COVID19 protocols.
The Commissioner for Education, stated that some of the regular school activities like Morning Assembly, Sporting activities amongst others will be suspended.
“The school is about the relationship but for now under this unusual circumstance, let’s do the things we need to do. No Assembly so that we don’t all come into one place.
According to her, some schools have maintained safety protocols and then things like quality assurance.
“We are not going to leave schools alone. We will keep coming around, holding meetings, talking to them and keep encouraging them.
On the use of face mask, the commissioner explained that it was better to be uncomfortable and not died of COVID-19.
“It is true the find it uncomfortable. You are uncomfortable wearing face mask but it is better to be uncomfortable and be alive. So let’s cope with the discomfort.
“Let us reinforce the message insisting that no mask no entry. We saw children who are asked to leave the school this morning.

– Yewa Junior High School Agege
– Dairy Farm Senior Secondary school, Agege
– District Junior College Agege
– Unity Junior College, Agege and among others.
