The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was on Sunday recieved by mammoth supporters in Lagos State, barely 10 days after winning the party’s ticket.
Tinubu scored 1,271 votes in a keenly contested primaries to defeat other aspirants including former minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
Tinubu, who wore a white Agbada with a red cap bearing his symbol, was accompanied by former national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, ex-Borno State Governor, Kasim Shettima, Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodima.
On ground who welcimed the former Governor of the State were the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his Deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa among others.
Also, Senatorial candidate for the Lagos-West senatorial district, Dr. Idiat Adebule, the chairman Senate Committee on Finance, Solomon Olamilekan, as well as members of the Governor Advisory Council (GAC), and many others.
Tinubu’s daughter and Iyaloja-General for the state, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, also came with dozens of market men and women to the port.
The APC national leader returned to Lagos on Sunday after his aircraft landed at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, at about 3:40pm into the hands of Lagos APC suppprters who waited for hours before his arrival.
As of the time of filing the report, Tinubu had nit addressed newsmen.
Tinubu’s convoy which was in a lengthy stretch immediately moved to the palace of Oba of Lagos, HRM Rilwan Akiolu.
Supporters were positioned at strategic points along the highway who waved to the APC’s presidential candidate as a way of welcoming him back home.
