Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos state, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran popularly known as Jandor) has said the people of Lagos have suffered enough from ‘slavery system’ run in the state by the All Progressives Congress, APC-led administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu promising that his government would change the narrative if elected next year.
Adediran disclosed this Sunday when he visited the League of Imams and Alfas in Ikosi Ejinrin area of Epe Local Government.
Jandor stated that he would run his government with fear of God, saying ”I am not a product of godfatherism.
“I am assuring you that our government will be run with the fear of God because I am not a product of godfatherism. I will run people-oriented government and provide quality education for our children,” he said.
Reacting, the President of the League of Imams and Alfas, Alhaji Abdulrahman Olatunji, urged eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and vote their choice, saying it is by that they would instal the government that would cater for their well being.
”I will urge you all to go and collect your PVCs because it is through that you can instal him as the governor. We are satisfied with what you told us today and we want to believe that you will fulfil the promises made”, said Olatunji.
Meanwhile, Adediran while addressing supporters and members of the PDP at the party’s secretariat in Agbowa-Ikosi, Ikosi Ejinrin LCDA, said that governorship candidates must be familiar with the states they want to govern.
He said that he decided to tour the 245 wards in the state to know the challenges in all the areas in the state.
Adediran told the people that they would have a Governor that would take care of them from 2023.
He said: “I want to thank the people of Ikosi Ejinrin LCDA. I thank you for being with us all the time. I don’t think a governorship candidate has ever come here to campaign for you.
“They don’t even know the Lagos State they want to rule over, which is why I decided to do the trip. I know all the roads leading to this place, so I will repair them as Governor.
“You cannot govern a state that you don’t know. It is not a day job or job for a lazy man. I challenge them to follow the same route. Our government would be for the masses. I have been to this place severally as a person. That is how I have toured the whole of Lagos State for seven years,’ he said.
He said; “they will come with money, when they come, I will fight you if you don’t collect the money. The money they are bringing belongs to us, it is our sweat. Collect the money from them, but vote your conscience.
“The most important vote is that of February 25, 2023. Don’t let them use ethnic sentiment, what did they do for us in 23 years. The first election is that of the President, which is for Atiku Abubakar. If the other person wins, they will disturb our own election. Once they lose, they will leave Lagos State for us.
“So, also that of Senate and Federal House of Representatives. Our own has been ordained by God from heaven. It will be on March 11, 2023.
“Thank you for being worthy partners to our vision. We are building this together so that we can achieve together and benefit together,” he said.
He also promised to cater for the non-indigenes, who he said would not be treated like second class citizens.
Stressing that he understands what they have been going through under the present government, he promised to imprison whoever tries to disturb them in the market.
He said “I will not take your sources of livelihood. I will rather support you. It will be our government. There will be no need to send your children to private schools. I will fix the public schools and give uniforms to your children, and the uniforms would be sowed by local tailors.
“Road contractors must employ 30% of the youths in this area so that we can empower them” he said.
