MASSOB backs joint US, Nigeria military forces against terrorists
CHIGOZIE AMADI
Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, said it was in support of the joint Nigeria and United States of America, US military force against terrorists, Islamic jihadists, bandits and all other forms of violent crimes against innocent Nigerians.
The movement attributed the present insecurity situation in Nigeria to what it described as the aftermath of the mistake of the amalgamation of Northern and Southern protectorates by Lord lugard in 1914.
MASSOB made this disclosure through its spokesperson, Mazi Chris Mocha, adding that the joint Nigeria, US military action would expose the hidden irreconcilable disdain existing between Islam and Christianity in the country.
It lamented that the successive administrations’ support for terrorism and bad governance gradually led to the destruction of the country’s former pride and its economy in the comity of Nations.
Mocha made this disclosure at the meeting of the movement held at Nteje, Oyi local Government area that was attended by the regional leaders that included, Mrs Ruth Edeh, Chiefs Sunday Agbo, Aloysius Obi, Simeon Okafor, Anthony Ofoedu, John Ekuinyi, Uche Ubani and Sylvester Oramulu.
Others were, Chiefs Peter Okafor, Micheal İkebudu, Obiora İgweonwu, Samuel Nwakonobi, among others.
MASSOB recalled the tragic event of September 11, 2001 attack on America, and lamented that Abuja rather than catch cold in sympathy with Washington over the misfortune, that Muslim youths celebrated the destruction of World Trade Center, WTC.
He disclosed that the jubilating Muslim youths killed Christian traders, and burnt US flag in support of the Al- Qaeda leader, Bin Ladin Osama adding that today the table has turned against Nigeria as terrorists have intensified attack on innocent Nigerians.
It urged the office of US Secretary of State, Justice department, Security agencies and other relevant departments to consider the brutal attacks carried out by Nigerian Talibans on its Nationals residing in Nigeria.
The pro-Biafra group recalled that while the members of MASSOB joined other countries of the world to mourn with the people and government of the United States, over the destruction of the WTC, MASSOB members were ambushed by Nigeria security forces on March 29, 2003, killing scores of them.
‘No Nigerian leader spoke to condemn the police brutality against the members of the organization. Our people have been killed, raped by lepers, and beheaded in religious riots in Northern Nigeria’.
Mocha stated that MASSOB cautioned the US of the grave implications of not dividing Nigeria into six Republics along geo-political lines, to disarm terrorists, and bring an end to the State-sponsored insecurity, insisting that the world is still not safe of terrorism if Nigeria is not divided like the mighty Soviet Union, USSR, among others.
MASSOB lamented that Nigeria is the only country in the world where leadership position offers one the greatest opportunity to steal public money with impunity.
The movement said, “US should take decisive actions against Nigeria,” stressing, “if some one living with you for 111 years (1914–2025) as your slave, and wants to go home, it will be useless, idiotic saying no to such demand,” MASSOB stated.
