Osun State Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola has commended members of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools in the state for their immense contribution to the development of Osun’s economy.
Oyetola who described their impacts on the state socioeconomic index as significant, said their efforts in the area of engaging some individuals among those on the street in their services can never be played down.
The governor disclosed these through his Special Adviser on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye during an engagement meeting with the body at the Centre for Civic Engagement, Osogbo.
He noted that the Proprietors have been partners in progress with the state government, as their employed staff across board have in their own right, complemented the state workforce which by implication, give some unemployed the platform to be partially engaged.
“Indeed, those who are partially engaged by the services of Private schools, apart from taking a step out of the unemployed cluster, already have the leverage to achieve their potentials if fully maximized. The Proprietors have to be commended for giving thousands of people the opportunity to benefits from the fountain of their enterprise.
“This is in addition to their quest to complement our efforts as a government, in the area of giving our children sound and quality education which would augment our literacy level.
“As a government we would continue to see the Proprietors as partners in the state development, and stop at nothing in making policies that would give them an enabling environment to develop their respective institutions”, he added.
Earlier in her remarks, the State President of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Alhaja Adepoju Kojusola commended Governor Oyetola for his unique and people centred governance which have brought about tremendous development in all sectors of the state.
Adepoju however, appealed to the government to continue making policies as well as granting them value added benefits which would bring about a sustainable development to their respective institutions.
