This moment marks a significant milestone in AOW:Energy’s relationship with Nigeria which has always been an ever present in the AOW:Energy Conference. It is no secret that Nigeria has a deep history in oil production and we welcome decades of experience to AOW:Energy to help us chart a successful future based on years of history. Under the Minister’s visionary leadership of His Excellency Senator Heineken Lokpobiri (Ph.D), Nigeria has seen a surge in upstream interest, policy reform, and investor engagement. His leadership is actively shaping a stronger, more dynamic petroleum sector, and his presence at AOW:Energy in Accra reflects Nigeria’s bold regional role in shaping Africa’s energy future.
The Minister joins a growing list of senior government and industry leaders confirmed for AOW:Energy 2025, demonstrating the event’s role as a unifying voice for Africa’s energy transformation.
In parallel, Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive of NUPRC, will also be at AOW:Energy to deliver critical updates on the Nigerian upstream licensing round and convene the AFRIPERF Charter, which will unite regional regulators under a shared vision for investment, efficiency, and transparency.
Furthermore, with APPO convening Africa’s National Oil Companies at AOW:Energy, and regional policymakers driving cross-border collaboration, AOW:Energy 2025 will be the most comprehensive assembly of African energy leadership ever seen.
In a statement of anticipation, Paul Sinclair, CEO of AOW:Energy, said: “The attendance of His Excellency Senator Lokpobiri is both a tribute to Nigeria’s importance to us at AOW, and an opportunity for the region to understand the progress achieved under his leadership. Nigeria is attending AOW:Energy in force for 2025 and is a key reason for the success of the move to West Africa. As Africa’s voice in global energy grows louder, Nigeria’s experience, ambition, and leadership are essential.”
