NiMet envisages 3-day sunshine, haziness from Monday

 The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunshine and haziness from Monday to Wednesday across the country.

NiMet’s weather outlook, released on Sunday in Abuja, predicted sunny and hazy atmosphere on Monday over the northern region throughout the forecast period.

According to it, sunny and hazy skies are expected over the central region throughout the forecast period.

“Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine are expected over the inland cities of the South in the morning and afternoon/evening hours.

“Cloudy conditions are expected over the coastal cities of the South with chances of isolate thunderstorms over parts of Rivers and Akwa Ibom states in the morning hours.

“Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers and Akwa Ibom states,” it said.

The agency anticipates sunny and hazy conditions on Tuesday over the northern region throughout the forecast period.

NiMet predicted sunny and Hazy atmosphere over the North Central region during the forecast period.

It forecasts that the inland and the coastal cities of the South will be predominately cloudy with intervals of sunshine in the morning hours.

NiMet anticipates few thunderstorms over parts of Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa states later in the day.

“On Wednesday, moderate dust haze is expected over the northern region throughout the forecast period. Sunny and hazy atmosphere are anticipated over the North Central region throughout the forecast period.

“Cloudy conditions with spells of sunshine are expected over the inland and the coastal cities of the South in the morning hours.

“Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of Delta, Lagos, Rivers and Akwa Ibom states,” it said.

NiMet advised motorists to drive carefully following the poor visibility in the area where dust haze is expected.

According to it, people with respiratory issues should apply necessary caution.

NiMet urged Airline operators to get updated weather reports from its office for effective planning in their operations. (NAN)
