Former Senate President and National leader of the People’s democratic party, PDP has dismissed the fear of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike exiting the party to the ruling party.
Saraki made this known during a meeting with journalists in Ilorin on Friday where he stated that the party will come to a resolution very soon and start making preparations for the 2023 general elections.
Recall that Champion news reported that three APC governors visited Wike recently in the bid to lure him into the ruling party following his rejection as the running mate of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The former Senate President clearly stated that the Rivers State Governor is still very much a member of the party and urged Nigerians to focus on supporting the PDP in achieving its goals of rebuilding the country and providing solutions to the challenges that the nation faces today due to the mismanagement of the ruling party.
He added that the PDP is fighting hard to curb the damages that the APC has done since its inception of office.
He said, “there will be a colossal mistake to say APC should be the party Nigerians must vote for in 2023. What Nigerians should focus now is engaging with the PDP on how we can rebuild this country and put it in the right direction, that is the solution to the hydra-headed challenges now confronting the country,
“some of us came out to say clearly that APC should not be given a second term, the present APC government is not giving the desired hope going by their utterances and actions.
“What is important now is to galvanize Nigerians to say ‘a clear No’ to the APC because the party has failed.
“Every day, we see events that confirm that they have failed, events that have never happened in the history of this country.”
all promises made in 2019 have not been delivered to the people.”
