It stated that Beri emerged winner from about 18716 entries from across five African regions after a careful and thorough screening process by a team of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) professionals in Africa.
A multiple award-winning Health, Process and Technical Safety expert, Beri is one of the few women calling the shot in the safety environment and has shown commitment to entrenching safety culture and bridging industry gaps in knowledge and skills.
She is a pioneering consultant in the set-up of the Lagos State Safety Commission (LSSC) and the first female Process Safety Service Facilitator in West Africa who has championed standardisation and codes using safety engineering as tool.
Through her founded SCSP, she has single handedly organised several trainings and empowerment programmes across the continent, notable of which is the global National Fire Protection Association West Africa (NFPAWA) conference.
Commenting on the award, Beri said she is challenged to continue to push boundaries, set higher goals, and strive for excellence in the HSE space.
“This award is a testament to all the young HSE professional and younger women out there that leadership award validates hard work, dedication, expertise, and a commitment to one’s passion,” she said.
