The Senator representing Ebonyi North zone in the National Assembly Dr Sam Egwu, has won his return ticket in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election held in the State.
Declaring the result, the Retuning Officer, Barrister Mudi Erhenede, said Dr Egwu polled a total of 163 votes to emerge the winner.
Barrister Erhenede said all the 163 accredited for the election voted for Dr Egwu.
Meanwhile, two other Senatorial Aspirants namely Mr. Mbam Chikaodiri Ojemba and Mr. Emeka Otozi, boycotted the exercise.
In an interview, Senator Egwu said he was impressed by the transparent nature of the exercise and commended the National and State Working Committee of the PDP for the exercise.
Senator Egwu promised never to disappoint the electorate if he eventually emerged victorious in the general election.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitored the exercise.
