Residents of Okpoko, a slum near Onitsha, Anambra State, weekend, commended Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for allegedly embarking on the rehabilitation of some major roads in the area.
Commending him, the Transition Councilor, (TC), of Okpoko ward 1 , Hon. Chukwudi Okwaraji, said the Governor has been able to fulfill his electioneering campaign pledge of fixing the roads in the slum, to make the residents feel belong.
“Governor Soludo has really lliberated Okpoko in no small measure by giving the inhabitants sense of belonging as one of the communties in Anambra state.
“Governor Soludo had visited Okpoko severally since he was sworn in as the Governor of Anambra state, and I am satisfied with the presence of the contactor at the road project site which Governor Soludo flagged off within a space of weeks ago.
” Our Governor who is God-sent to liberate Okpoko and Anambra state in general, has commenced work in Okpoko immediately. He flagged off nine road projects in Okpoko. I am the councilor of ward 1, I came to see by myself. As you can see the contractor measuring the roads. So, it is a reality and I am overwhelmed”, the councilor stated.
Hon. Okwaraji, called, ‘King Pele’, by his admirers, urged the residents of Okpoko community to support Governor Soludo’s agenda in developing the state, even as he also pleaded to them to vote for All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in the forthcoming general election as a way to reciprocate him for his kind gesture to Okpoko community.
He stressed the need for the creation of employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths roaming the streets of Okpoko.
Similarly, the President General of Okpoko community, Chief Francis Enemuo, commended Governor Soludo for ear marking nine roads for rehabilitation in Okpoko, adding that he has made the community proud.
