Founder and leader of the Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) chief Ralph Uwazuruike has urged the governors of the South East geo-political zone to urgently retrieve the Eastern Security Network (ESN) from Mr. Nnamdi Kanu the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to stem further violence in the region.

Uwazuruike made the call while briefing newsmen in Owerri Monday, pointing out that the actualization of a president of Igbo extraction in 2023 would not stop agitations for the realization of Sovereign State of Biafra.

He further accused the IPOB leader of instigating violence in Orlu, Obigbo and Enugu through his ESN which resulted in mass killings and wanton destruction of property.

“ESN has to operate within the ambit and dictates of the law, equipped and if there is a problem, it should be documented”, he stated.

Chief Uwazuruike insisted that his struggle for Biafra was for the overall betterment of the Igbo race even as he lashed at  some power thirty politicians of infiltrating MASSOB, causing division and using the gullible members of the Freedom Fighting Organization to foment trouble in parts of the South East.

“Today many people have been killed not by the Fulani herdsmen but by ourselves because if you bring in soldiers who are trained to kill, they will kill our people”.

The BIM leader who denounced unwarranted insults and humiliation being meted out to Igbo leaders including the leaders of the Ohaneze Ndigbo and governors of the Southeast warned that the unhealthy trend if left unchecked might spell doom for the Igbo race.

“Threats are everywhere but they (IPOB) know very well that they cannot defeat Nigeria in a war but they only want to cause trouble and mayhem for their own selfish interest”.

He however, commended governors Hope Uzodimma and Nyesom Wike of Rivers State for their quick intervention in the crisis that rocked Obigbo and Orlu perpetrated by IPOB and enjoined all Southeast governors to rise up and ensure that the region is not turned into anarchy and theatre of war.

Although I am not a chieftain of the Ohaneze Ndigbo or a southeast governor, I respect them and I believe that there should be no anarchy to kill people because I know the consequences of asking the youths to attack the military or to burn police stations.
