Tinubu commiserates with ex-defence minister over wife’s death

President Bola Tinubu has extended condolences to elder statesman and former Minister of Defence, Professor Iya Abubakar, over the passing of his wife, Hajiya Ummu Abubakar.
Hajiya Abubakar, who was also the mother-in-law of the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, passed away in Abuja, at 78 years.
In a statement on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu extolled the deceased for her devotion to God and dedication to family values, saying she will be remembered for her good deeds.
The President prayed for God’s mercy on the departed and urged her family to maintain the good name she left behind.

“The President states Hajiya Ummu Abubakar will be remembered for her devotion to God and dedication to family values.
“President Tinubu prays for God’s mercy on the departed and urges her family to maintain the good name she left behind,” the statement reads.
