Umahi, Deputy /others received Covid-19 Vaccine…as Ebonyi targets 46,090 persons in 1st Phase
Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi and his Deputy Kelechi Igwe on Wednesday received the Covid-19 Vaccine .
Also injected with the Vaccine were Commissioners, the Secretary to State Government Kenneth Ugballa, members of the State Executive Council and the Chief of Staff Princess Queen Agwu.
Speaking after receiving the covid-19 Vaccine , Governor Umahi said that a total of 46,090 Doses of Oxford Aserazaneka Vaccine were received by the State.
“We are expected to vaccinate 46,090 persons in Ebonyi State, what we are doing is to inculcate confidence in our citizens concerning the level of fake news in circulation”
Umahi disclosed that the State carried out an average of 50 tests in the last one week, 49 tested negative while One is positive .
“We are not going to soft-pedal until everybody is free of the pandemic. vaccination is not compulsory , what is compulsory is observance of Covid-19 protocol”
He enjoined the Covid-19 Committee to avoid the Vaccine going outside their hand insisting very one that will be vaccinated must fill a Form.
Earlier in a speech , the State Commissioner for Health Dr Daniel Umezurike, said that a total of 13,000 patients were tested for covid-19 virus while 1,689 were discharged”
“Today is the flag-off of the vaccination and presentation to Governor Umahi the State Consignment of Covid-19 Vaccine received on Tuesday at the Akanu Ibiam Airport Enugu”
“Today another milestone is made with the Vaccine to be given to our people”
Commissioner Umezurike said that five Centres were ceated in each local Government Area of the State for the vaccination , all the planning has been done”
Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of Covid-19 Certificate to Governor Umahi as evidence he has received the Vaccine.
The event had in attendance the wife of the Governor Rachel Umahi, State Commissioner of Police Aliyu Garba, Secretary to State Government Kenneth Ugballa, members of State Executive Council, Local Government Chairmen, Commissioner for Health Daniel Umezurike and Officials of Health Care Agency.
