We will emerge victorious in 2026 – Oyetola tells supporters
Former Governor of Osun State and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the 2026 gubernatorial election in the state.
Oyetola speaking at his 71st birthday celebration/ prayer program held at his country home in Iragbiji, on Monday, said the unity within the APC is a strong indication of victory, urging members to remain committed to peace and harmony as the party prepares for the contest.
According to him, By God’s special grace, our party will emerge victorious in the forthcoming 2026 gubernatorial election.
I thank God for the way things are going with our party, how we have been able to stand in unity.
“I want to encourage us to continue in that suit and ensure that peace and unity reign in the party because that is how we can emerge victorious in 2026.”
He urged party members to imbibe the lessons of the sermon delivered by the Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muhyideen Salman, stressing that resources and efforts meant for the grassroots must reach them without sabotage.
He also called on the youth to shun drug abuse, urging them to remain disciplined, focused, and God-fearing.
He said, “To the youth, I want you to be focused and dedicated to your work, fear God, for it is God who earned me the position I am today, I have never derailed from worshiping him.
Don’t be involved in thugery, we didn’t get involved in drug abuse before attaining this height. So please stay away from drug abuse, because it only leads to mental health issues.”
Earlier in his sermon, the chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muhyideen Salman, urged politicians to ensure that resources meant for the people at the grassroots get to them without being sabotaged.
Meanwhile, the Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Tunde Badmus, extolled Oyetola for his positive impacts on various households in the State.
His words, “The best prayer is to wish him happy birthday and then wish him more successful years, in good health, and then the Honourable Minister have been doing well, he has been able to penetrate into various homes of Osun, he is someone that is easy going, he is a performer, he is all in all.”
