Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has ordered the arrest of a Caterer (name withheld), who allegedly served low quality food during a Christmas Party for widows and elders in the State.
Umahi restated that the Police would follow due process in investigating the caterer (whom he failed to reveal the identity), for her to return the money given to prepare the food.
The State Chief Executive issued the directive at the weekend during an aborted party, organized
for the widows at the Christian Ecumenical Center Abakaliki.
“We are going to repeat this party, as we should celebrate our fathers and mothers well”
The Governor disclosed that he would inspect the food served to the widows and elders during the repeat celebration.
“I have directed the Deputy Governor and my Senior Special Assistant on Welfare and Religious Matters to make adequate preparations’
“The Bible enjoins us to honour our fathers and mothers so that our days would be long on earth”
“The celebration must be held on December 20th or 21st, anyone who takes what belongs to this categories of people is taking trouble ‘ the Governor warned.
