Zulum swears in 20 new commissioners

The Borno state Governor, Prof.  Babagana Zulum  on Monday  sworn  in 20 commissioners  into the State  Executive Council (SEC) with a charge on them to dedicate themselves towards attaining the 10-year Strategic plan and 25-year Development Plan of the administration.

Presiding over the swearing in of the newly reconstituted Executive Council at the Conference Hall of the Musa Usman Secretariat, Maiduguri, Prof. Zulum  warned the commissioners to be punctual in office always and should close at the appropriate time, stressing that any commissioner that did not resume by 8:00am and closed by 4:00pm would be shown the way out.

Governor Zulum said as from October 2022, the state government will commence promotional examination for the state civil servants.

He directed the construction of two canteens one for male civil servants and the other for the female ones and urged the civil servants  to dedicate themselves towards meeting the 10 -year Strategic Plan and 25-year Development Plan of the administration.

He said he is not unaware of the non-payment of promotion benefits and yearly increment of the civil servants and lamented that there is paucity of  funds currently promising that  as soon as the financial status of the state improved, the benefits would be paid..

The swearing in was administered by the State Chief Judge, Justice Kashim Zannah represented by Justice Umar  Fadawu.

Speaking on behalf of the newly sworn in Commissioners, Barrister Kaka Shehu Lawan  said “we promise you that we will put all our best and I want to assure you that you should not expect nothing less than the best from us.”

He thanked the Governor and the people of the state for having confidence in them and assured that they would not
