Former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, Governor David Umahi, añd notable Stakeholders, on Wednesday unanimously resolved to back the candidacy of the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Ebonyi State Hon Francis Nwifuru in the March 18th polls.
The duo made the declaration at the country home of Chief Anyim Pius in Isiagu Ivo Local Government Area during a Town Hall meeting with stakeholders and Leaders of Thought.
The Town Hall meeting was convened against the backdrop of the collective consensus of critical stakeholders across the three zones of the State, to support the Power of Equity and Rotation Principle of the State.
The meeting had in attendance the Member representing Ohanivo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Hon Livinus Makwe, the State Commissioner for Information/Orientation Barrister Uchenna Orji, members of the State Executive Council, the Director General of APC Governorship Campaign Council Deacon Austin Umahi, Mr Aja Nwabueze and Mazi Oliver Osi.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, who was an ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation, said that the resolve of stakeholders to support Hon Francis Nwifuru, was to allow the principle of zoning to flourish in the State.
*I believe in zoning, I believe in Power Rotation, it is the turn of Ebonyi North and the candidate of APC is Hon Francis Nwifuru.
*In 2015, it was turn of Ebonyi South to produce the Governor, today in 2023 it is the turn of Ebonyi North zone to produce the next governor of the State*
The former Senate President restated the resolution of the entire people of Ivo to vote for the governorship candidate of the APC Hon Nwifuru.
In a speech, Governor David Umahi, commended Senator Anyim Pius, for his resolve to align with the rotation and equity principle in the State.
*I thank Senator Anyim and Stakeholders, for honouring me, and for supporting Power Rotation I the State.
Umahi urged the people to vote massively for APC Governorship Candidate Hon Nwifuru during the March 18th March 2023.
He promised the citizenry that his administration was working on the Water Project in the area.
