Again S/East Govs restates ban on Open Grazing/movement  of  Cattle on foot in the zone….Umahi

The Chairman of South-East Governors Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State Engr David Umahi, has restated the resolve of the forum to ban open grazing and
movement of cattle on foot  in any part of the zone.
Umahi made the assertion in abakaliki on Monday on the occasion of the All Progressive Party (APC) Stakeholders meeting and inauguration of the State Registration Committee for revitalization of membership registration.
He said that Leaders of the zone must put up programmes to protect the zone,  what our people should know is that security is not politics”
“Governors of south east had banned open grazing and movement of cows on foot, we have done that “
“In each of the five states of the south east namely Abia, Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi and Enugu state respectively, we have stopped movement of cows , what we discussed with herders is the measures that have been in place”
“Governors of the south east geo-political zone are calling on leaders to speak out on security of the zone and the unity of Nigeria”
“The issue of forest, anybody staying in the forest is taking a risk, I support that bandits. Farmers and herdsmen should be flushed our of forests”
The meeting deliberated on State nominees for Federal Government Board Appointments of the State extraction inaddition to strategies and timetable for the Registration.
Nominees for the Board Appointments included former Commissioner for Environment in the State Engr Paul Okorie, and former Speaker of the State House of Assembly Chief Christopher Omo Isu among others.
Earlier in an address,  the APC State Caretaker Chairman Chief Stanley Emegha urged party faithfuls to strive and take either exercise serious.
” Our strength will depend on this exercise, we all must come out , move enmass for the Registration”
In a speech, the Chairman of the Registration Committee in charge of the Ebonyi  State Mr Chima Onyekwere, commended party loyalists for their commitment in propagating the ideals of the party in the State.
“The Registration and Revalidation exercise is so vital to the party, all card carrying members of the party must be committed to it and ensure its success”
Highlights of the occassion was the inauguration of  members of the Ebonyi State Registration Committee by Chief Onyekwere.
Those inaugurated included Barrister Obianuju Nwafor (Secretary ), Arc Ezime Isaac, Nweke John Chinasa among others.
The meeting had in attendance members of the State Executive Council, APC Stalwarts. Members of the National Assembly, Ambassadors, State deputy Governor Kelechi Igwe, the Secretary to State Government Kenneth Ugballa among others
