A member of the House of Representatatives Hon.Shamsudeen Bello Dambazau has said that the All Progressives Congress APC led Federal Government of Nigeria FGN had battled insecurity to a level that sanity had returned to the country.

Dambazau represents Talia/Sumalia Federal Constituency of Kano State in the House which is the green chamber of the apex legislative institution in Nigeria-National Assembly.

He spoke at the Hot Seat at the House Press Corps on Thursday where he gave pass mark to the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari administration in many areas of our national life saying that insecurity is a global phenomenon which the government had tackled well.

He said that the ruling All Progressives Congress APC led Federal Government had  acquired and effectively deployed through the Nigerian Air Force so many Super Tucano Jets to tackle the remote and proximate cause of insecurity in Nigeria as they deployed drones to kill the terrorists.

The lawmaker said that the nation’s security agencies had adopted different measures to address issues of vexatious insecurity adding that you cannot eliminate insecurity totally but can only tackle it decisively to a level of sanity.

He said: “insecurity has been something that has been rearing its ugly head since around 2008. It is something that has been ongoing but I think we started to feel the bite around 2009 when Muhammed Yusuf was captured and handed over to the Police and was executed extra-judiciary at that time

So we have made progress now because I recall that between 2014 and the end of 2015. For that period I refused to go for any Eid prayer. I stayed at home or went to the barracks to pray. But now since around  2016 I have not missed any Eid prayer. I have not missed any Jumaat prayer. So that speaks a lot”.

He assured that the Presidential candidate of the ruling party Sen. Bola Tinubu will address all issues of insecurity in the new government if the party is re-elected into power after the 2013 general elections.
