Ebonyi Govt extols FG for citing newly established Federal College of Education Isu in the State

…pledges assistance  towards ensuring speedy take-off of the institution

 

 

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, has commended  the Federal Government for citing the newly established Federal College of Education (Technical ) Isu in the State.

 

Umahi made the commendation on Thursday when the Provost of the institution Dr Reuben Okechukwu, led the Management Team of the College on a courtesy visit at the Government House Abakaliki.

 

The State Chief Executive represented by his deputy Kelechi Igwe, reiterated that the state government would partner with the Federal Government to ensure equipping the institution to enviable standard.

 

He urged the Federal Government to facilitate the speedy take off of the institution insisting that the State government would complement the efforts.

 

Umahi assured the Management Team that the State Government would provide all the necessary support and assistance needed to ensure its effective take-off.

 

Earlier in an  address, the Provost of the College Dr Reuben Okechukwu, said that their mission was to thank Governor Umahi for his support that made the establishment of the College in the State a reality.

 

Dr Okechukwu commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his strides in Education. and love for Ebonyi State.

 

He commended the State  administration for the giant strides recorded in Education and other sectors in the State since the assumption in office.

 

“You are indeed a construction giant with focus on delivery, your despatch donation of both the temporary and permanent sites for the College  was a huge asset.

 

The Provost emphasized that the Management Team would inject the needed energy and knowledge to develop access and quality system that will make the products of the institution globally competitive .

 

“In this regard we have since on arrival observed myriads of constraints that may hinder the effective deliverance though there are redeemable”

 

Dr Okechukwu outlined the constraints to include reconstruction of critical projects at the permanent site. Laboratories and workshops, Healthcare facility, Information and Communication Centre and relocation of the Secondary school presently at the temporary site.and self accommodation for principal officers

 

The Provost was accompanied on the visit by the College Registrar Dr Linus Nnamani, Bursar Mr Ojeh Nwode Offor and Librarian Mr Lawal Shuaibu.

 

It would be recalled that the Federal College of Agriculture (Technical ) Isu was one of the institutions established by the Federal Government in each of the geo-political zones of the country .
