The wind of the nationwide industrial action declared on Tuesday by the Nigerian Labour Congress also blew across the FCT Administration as members of staff who resumed work Tuesday morning were forced out of their various offices.
Leadership of the Joint Union Action Committee, JUAC swept through offices in the FCTA secretariat chasing workers who had barely settled down for the day’s work out of their office.
Even though the main entrance to the Secretariat was open for workers and visitors coming to the premises, the Union members ensured that the various offices within the secretariat from the Minister’s block to other departments were locked.
The Premises was later left deserted after the members of staff went back home leaving only the minister’s office sustaining the activities of the Administration.
From all indications, compliance will be very high in the Federal Capital Territory tomorrow for the action taken by Labour and FCTA JUAC.
