I‘ll end insecurity, repenish Lake Chad, says Tinubu

The presidential aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu has promised to end Boko Haram insurgency, resuscitate the Lake Chad, transform agriculture, power sector, industrialization and job creation when elected as president in 2023 general elections.

Tinubu, also the National Leader of the APC, Senator Bola Tinubu and former governor of Lagos state disclosed this while addressing Borno delegates at the Multi Purpose Hall of the Government House, Maiduguri Monday said he would ensure the  resuscitation of the Lake Chad for irrigation, farming and fishing activities, as well explore other naturals resources such as oil in the area.

He reiterated his commitment to reposition all sectors for job creation, economic stabilization, infrastructural development, power generation, industrialization and agricultural transformation..

“Health is wealth and education is key to development. Therefore, if elected as president, my government will address schools and hospitals’ problems as well empower women and youths to become self reliant and useful to themselves,” he assured.

Speaking at the occasion, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State wished him success in his political ambition and prayed God to give Nigeria a credible and capable leader that has the heart of Nigerians and to take the country to greater heights.

In his remarks, the  Director General, Asiwaju 2023 Presidential Campaign, Senator Kashim Shettima described Bola  Tinubu as the most suitable and qualified candidate to rule this country among all the aspirants having sacrificed a lot and contributed immensely to the survival and stability of the party right from the cradle to its infancy and maturity stages obediently.

Shettima said Tinubu has the determination and commitment to serve Nigerians diligently and remove the county from the shackles of insecurity and under development.

Meanwhile, the Senator representing Southern Borno at the National Assembly, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has sympathized with the All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters in Borno South Senatorial district over the recent stampede that left many injured.

The incident occurred at the weekend when the main gate of Biu Local Government Lodge collapsed and  many supporters of the APC got injured  while trying  to grab Ndume’s palliatives.

Speaking with journalists in Maiduguri on Monday, Senator Ndume said: “It was unfortunate for this incident to happen in Biu. My intention was to meet the delegates and assure them of more dividends of democracy if given the mandate again.

“I was overwhelmed with the turnout of party delegates and supporters to meet in five councils of Biu, Bayo, Kwaya / Kusar, Shani, including Marama of Hawul”.

He noted that with the large turnout of women, who were led by his wife, were each provided with a token of N3,000 and a wrapper.

He further stated that he had settled the hospital bills of all those hospitalized to enable supporters return to their communities..

On constituency projects, Ndume said that very soon, trucks of fertilizers will be distributed to genuine farmers in nine local government areas that constituted his constituency, stressing that he has also sunk 104 boreholes across the Senatorial district.

He said in addition, three primary schools were also built and equipped in Chibok and Gwoza Local Governments Areas because the Boko Haram insurgents destroyed most of the schools in the state.
