.As gunmen  struck in Imo again, burns down monarch’s palace

 The former deputy Speaker of Anambra State, Hon Pascal Agbodike is currently  counting his loss as arsonists on Tuesday razed down his palatial home in Omasì, Ihiala Local Govt Area of the state.

 

It was learnt that the house, a duplex furnished to the teeth and a bungalow in the same compound was completely razed down, while properties worth millions of naira in the houses were also not  spared.

 

Speaking over the phone, Agbodike who is currently the Member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency at the National Assembly said  that the incident happened 1am on Tuesday.

 

He said that though no life was lost in the attack, he could not state if the incident was politically motivated or if he suspected anyone.

 

The lawmaker added, “As I speak to you right now, I’m homeless. My building in the village was burnt down and nothing was saved.

 

“I got a call about 1am this morning that my house was under attack by armed hoodlums, they gained access to compound and burnt everything down while shooting indiscriminately.

 

“I lost everything in that house, including documents. The house has five bedrooms and four living rooms.”

 

Agbodike called on the police and other security agencies to investigate the incident to unravel who the arsonists were.

 

The lawmaker was in Abuja carrying out his legislative function when the attack happened.

 

As at the time of filling the story, the state police command was yet to confirm the incident.

Meanwhile, The palace of the  yet  to be coronated  Royal Father of Okwuru community in Orsu Ihitteukwa Local Government Area of Imo State, was on Saturday  attacked and burnt down  by  a group of unknown gunmen

 

 

The Eze-Elect, Eze Ezekiel I. Nwokedi and his family,  according to sources close to the royal family, were on that fateful day, taken unaware by the hoodlums who set the palace on fire

 

 

 

According to the source  the  hoodlums  looted  property belonging to the royal family before setting the palace ablaze

 

 

The source further  said that the  royal father, expressed worry over  the attack on his palace saying that it is his prize for being vocal against the activities of the unknown gunmen.

 

 

 

His words,” The hoodlums looted my house, catered away personal belongings worth million  of nairas and set it ablaze.

 

 

 

“All I have lost from their attack is approximately worth over N85 Million when estimated”.

 

 

 

He,  described the incident as very unfortunate and  called on the  state government to  come to his rescue.

 

 

 

The Eze-elect, according to the source had been at the forefront of the battle against insecurity in the LGA using his Odinma Orsu Initiative to advocate for ceasefire and peace in the LGA.

However, the police  Command was yet to react to the incident
