New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) stalwart in Katsina State, Engr. Nura Khalil, has clinched the governorship ticket of the party as Ibrahim Zakari Talba, who lost out in the race, accused the party leadership of bias.

Khalil polled 950 votes out of 981 total votes, leaving Talba with 29 votes and two invalid votes, although no fewer than 1154 delegates were billed for the primary, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim, returning officer, in the election declared.

Crisis almost rocked the primary held in NYSC Orientation Camp in Katsina yesterday as Talba staged a walk out, alleging irregularities in the delegates list.

The aggrieved aspirant urged the party chieftains to intervene to prevent disaffection and anything that could jeopardize the party’s chances in the state.
